Seasons In The Sun

I'm loving these apron and tea towel designs found at magmabooks.com. For any budding gardeners they provide a handy table to help you plant and look after your crops. I particularly like the traditional market stall feel to the designs, which contrasts nicely with the fresh and vibrant colour palette.

To Me, From Me

I just found these classic books on sale at www.tankmagazine.com, they are packaged in an unusual way, resembling cigarette packets, and are presented in a very desirable tin. They would make a cracking present, I might have to buy myself a set come payday!

Procraftination

I recently spent quite a lot of time (whilst I should have been doing university work), making a booklet of illustrations for my boyfriends birthday card. I was quite happy with the final result and it definitely made me want to do more hand-rendered illustration based work, a few of the pages are shown above.

TV On The Radio

I've loved TV On The Radio for a long time, but this album-long video is epic in so many ways I think they may have outdone themselves. Check it out here.

Vivian Maier

I just found this blog, it's the fascinating story of Vivian Maier, who's previously unseen photography was only discovered recently. Check out the blog for the whole story and lots of great photographs.

Comic Sans Criminal

I just found this project by Matt Dempsey on Adverblog. It brings to light a very annoying habit some people have of using wildly inappropriate typefaces. If you are a Comic Sans Criminal I suggest you sign the pledge immediately.

Build The Perfect Designer

These are images of an outcome from a recent university project set by Elmwood. The brief gave each student a word to base the project around, my word was ‘panacea’ which means ‘an answer or solution for all problems or difficulties’. The concept was to present me as a panacea for all the needs of a design studio, as a piece of self promotion. The idea being that the target audience can pick my characteristics to build the perfect designer, or if they want all the options, the answer is me. The illustrations were cut out of board using a laser cutter, so that all the pieces fit perfectly together.

Innocent Smoothies

I flipping love the new innocent smoothie advert! I think it's really funny in the way the smoothie bottle is made into a superhero but in an obviously fake way, (my favourite bit is that you can clearly see the wires used to make it look like its flying, and the pole its stuck to).
The theme song.... 'Fruit! Ahhh Saviour of the universe!' and tag line 'Innocent smoothies, here to save the peckish' both work really well.
It's another great addition to the innocent story so far, and maintains their brand image as fun, cute and funny.
